Good day Believers,
I trust that you all are doing well. I ask that we continue to stay focused on the life that Christ led for us all, as well as our own journey towards Christ likeness. Today’s Bread will be short and sweet. With that being said, let’s eat…
If I could be like Mike…
I was going through an old photo album and I saw a picture of myself at about 4 years old walking around with my father’s size 12 sneakers on. I saw another picture of myself wearing one of my father’s old basketball jerseys. I saw another picture with my two younger brothers in which one had on a diaper and my father’s sneakers and the other was wearing my father’s coat, obviously all too big for us. It made me think about female friends that I have and the fact that when I look at their old albums, they all have their mother’s pearls on, or their mother’s wig, or shades, or sometimes even her high heels on. I thought about the fact that as children, we have this automatic desire to be like that positive role model in our lives. For girls it’s their mothers and for boys it’s their fathers. I also thought about the fact that even without having a father or mother in the household, our Christianity creates a desire for us to be like Christ. Or at least it should… (more…)

Good day, Believers…
As we come off of a week of fasting and a day of Celebrating Jesus’ Resurrection, I pray that we live a fasted life and not let new clothes, chocolate bunnies and wicker baskets cloud our minds in regards to the Truth. Be well. Let’s eat…
HIS VOICE…
I was riding in the car a while back and an R&B song came on called “Be Without You.” At the time, the song wasn’t in heavy rotation on the radio but I’d heard it about 4 or 5 times and liked it. So, I turned it up as it came on and my friend in the passenger seat started to sing along. Our third friend screamed from the back seat, “This is Hot!! Who is this?” I looked at my friend in the passenger seat that started laughing and screamed back, “It’s Mary J. Blige, dummy!!” I didn’t laugh at my friend in the backseat however, it was kind of hard for me to understand how a sound and a voice like Mary J. Blige’s wasn’t easily recognized by our backseat friend. Because of my career, I can understand why I might be able to pick up on a voice or a sound quicker than most of my friends. I also went to the extent of thinking that maybe our backseat friend doesn’t listen to music, or this type of music, or Mary J. Blige that often. My mind started to think even deeper then that… The thought that came to mind was, “If you’re not familiar with a voice, you WILL NOT recognize it, even when the volume is turned all the way up.” Hmmm….

Good day believers,
As we continue to seek guidance from the Lord, remember that we are told to forgive others just as we ask GOD to forgive us. Bitterness (we’ve all been bitter before) is in essence, asking for something from GOD that we don’t want to give to someone else. Let’s do it. Let’s break bread, and let’s forgive.
This teaching comes from Matthew 18:23-35. Make sure you read it in its entirety, however I’ll give you the brief background for now.
In this selection, Jesus told a parable about forgiveness. A servant owed his king 10,000 talents, the servant however, didn’t have it so he begged and the king forgave and also freed him from the debt. This same servant left and saw someone who owed him 100 denarii, but this man didn’t have it to pay the servant. The servant demanded his money and he began to choke the man. When the king found out that the servant that he just forgave didn’t forgive someone else, he changed his mind and had him jailed and tortured until he repaid the debt. The Holy Spirit led me into a deeper and more profound analysis of this parable. I went and researched the value of what was owed to both men. The king was owed 10,000 talents and he forgave AND cancelled the debt. ONE talent is equal to approximately 200 pounds of gold, which in that day was worth about 1.1 million dollars. Multiply that by 10,000 and that means the servant owed 11 billion dollars. The king forgave and cancelled that amount. (more…)
